| Is the Internet slower or is it just 3web?
I've been with 3web for almost 4 years, and never had any issues with them here in Ottawa.
In the last couple of months though, I am seeing really long delays in sending emails and just getting to websites. I have no line problems with connectivity to the central office and actual speeds are ok, but its like the dns servers or something along the lines is choked or really scaled back. From the time I click on the title of a Hotmail to the time it shows on the screen is a minute while it waits to connect to the hotmail server, even if I hit reply. (I use Firefox 2.x mostly)
I noticed slightly slower access from school too (Carleton U) but nothing compared to home.
I've read alot about issues with 3web/CIA and until recently I had no problems, and the performance compared to Sympatico was just as good at half the price in the past.
Am I missing something fundamental, or is there anything I can do in terms of settings? Just curious and concerned. |

@igs.net | last few days has been really bad tonight, I could not connect for 10 minutes. latency is terrible. when I call tech support, wait on the line for longtime then get cutoff. Is 3web going out of business?? |

@igs.net | reply to ottawan got the same issues with 3 web in the last few days, here in Montreal. yes, email websites take forever to open and browsing is very slow. today I got disconnected pretty often. Download speed is ok though... as per dslreports tests. |
