[DW3000] Having trouble connecting to 3rd party applications

Any other 3000 users or users in general having this issue that I'm having. I'm having great difficulty connecting to any applications that require logging on to the 3rd party server. For instance, messengers and online games. Browsing on the internet, checking mail, banking, etc. on secure sites have been fine so far. Every once in awhile I'll be able to get a messenger to open up, but it's very sporadic.

Most of the time when I try to log on to these other applications they'll hang at the login to the server and timeout. However, I'm still able to download patches, etc. for these applications. This has been going on for several days now and I thought I'd try here to see if anyone else was having problems.

Other info that might or might not help. I use windows firewall, but I have always used it and have not changed anything on it myself. I do use earthlink dial up to IP tunnel when logging on the Hughesnet. All these applications that I can't log into on satellite WILL work on just regular dial up. So that led to me believe it might some kind of port issue, but Hughesnet told me they never block any ports.

Something similar to all this happened back in August '07, and there were quite a few threads on it. The problem seemed to be an issue with the satellite (satmex5 1250) but I don't think anything was explicitly explained as to what it was. Also, Hughesnet told me they weren't aware of any issues, not that they would admit it. I may just have to wait it out a bit longer and see if it clears up again.

If anyone needs me to post more information that might help, then I will.
