| reply to wassy Re: 2701HG-B Frequent loss of Internet light, and now rebooting
Is it your wireless connection keeps dropping or does the power light start blinking? Your post doesn't really state what exactly is happening and you didn't provide us with your DSL Diagnostic page and details log (I don't know what your uncancelled echo is and etc.). |

| it is not a wireless issue, it is a dsl issue. it appears that whenever my wife signs onto the network (runs IE or Safari on her MacBook PRO), it knocks out DSL off. the Internet light disappears, and it then finds the signal again. sometimes, the DSL light goes red, then resets as well. I can't print a details log, because the system reboots every time i click on it. here is the best I can do :

Now, here's the wierd thing I just saw for the 1st time. up until a few minutes ago, my device list was showing the customized names I had entered so I can identify each. Now it shows the following :
System -- 00:0d:72:89:8d:81 192.168.1.254 DAD Ethernet 00:c0:4f:04:80:bf 192.168.1.64 NT4_SERVER Ethernet 00:c0:4f:0d:a5:45 192.168.1.65 WIN98 Ethernet 00:c0:4f:0d:e7:a6 192.168.1.66 mom Ethernet 00:c0:4f:1d:62:35 192.168.1.67
Here's the thing. these aren't my codes, but they might be my son's Macintosh. I have NO computers with windows 98 on them, and none of these computers are connected via ethernet except mine!
this is ridiculous. HELP.. LOL. |

| I would recommend factory reseting Your gateway(hold in the red reset button for 10 seconds , make sure you have your ISP username and password handy to reprovision the gateway) After reset run the system setup (gateway.2wire.net/setup) and put in your username in password. After you have green internet light verify you can surf then see if you can access the detailed log. If so please post detailed log |
