Re: Prices

Those prices are outrageous, I never used more than $50.00 in minutes when I had v wireless.
$150.00 for data inclusion? Ridiculous. And what's this $170.00 for international data?
They are going to restrict the $150.00 plan to US only? Insert joke here.
Just because YOU didn't use more than $50 in minutes doesn't mean other people don't. Maybe you should get more friends.

$150 for unlimited minutes and an unlimited data plan is not bad at all. The unlimited data plan is already $44.99/month. So you're getting unlimited minutes and unlimited data.

My old 1400 minute family plan with one unlimited data plan was ~$175/month.

The laughable part is the family plans. Might as well get 3 separate plans, there's no incentive to bundle all your phones because they are just charging $100/phone anyway.

I think I lost most RL friends during the dial-up years, my phone was always busy busy busy.

maybe most of his friends and family also use verizon so therefore those calls don't count against minutes.

Nah, I canceled service after my boss kept using my hours, even when I was at home with a land line, and refused to help with the bill.

Umm, don't you even READ DSL reports? There is no 'unlimited data plan'. It's 44.99 for 5GB a month.

How much you want to bet their 'unlimited' data plan has so many restrictions, it's not worth it.

I mean, If I could get TRULY unlimited EDVO (call it 600Kb/sec), that's not a 'bad' price, if your only other option was satellite internet. That's about 180 GB per month for $170.00. Compare that to a satellite, which is about 13GB/month for $99.00, That's pretty much a no brainer, Verizon wins hands down.

However, since Verizon doesn't know the meaning of the word "unlimited", I suspect you will see a 5 or 10GB total bandwidth limit on their plans.

Most of my friends communicate with each other via texts. The only time we call is when you have to say something too complex for a text message. Even my parents have hopped on the bandwagon and text my sister and I if they need to tell us something. All my communications for work are done via email. I think the only time I got a call from them was when they told me to come in for the interview. I rarely use more than 100 or so minutes a month these days.

I'm not sure why people like texting. I abhor it. It takes ot long to communicate. especially on my end. It takes me forever just to type in a few words. And god forbid I mess it up then it takes a REAL long time. Even using IM on a computer where I can at least use a keyboard is too slow for me. And I type pretty fast. I prefer the instantaneous communication of speech.
