Ports

Does anyone know what ports GWI blocks?

I haven't had any issues due to blocked ports, any port in particular? Maybe port 80 seeing as most ISP's block it on residential service.

Great! Thanks for the response.

Do you know if GWI does any sort of torrent blocking?

i do a lot of torrenting, and i only have problems with some traffic shaping. not all the time, however. by the way, be aware of these two programs for use in torrenting- PeerGuardian2 and An.On. i have a machine set up just for torrents, and these programs do wonders in keeping away any unpleasant "letters". also thepiratebay.org is a wonderful site. PG2 does occasionally crash my comp after updating, but small price to pay. also,PG2 and An.On. are free!

I use private torrents sites only like Supertorrents and Torrentleech, download at full speed on every file, and its way safer than public torrents.

I have a couple of invites to supertorrents.org if anyone is interested. PM me.

Are you sure it is shaping? Maybe you are just downloadng from a slow public site.

theres no traffic shaping on GWI, public torrents are unreliable, too many leechers.
