todays economy

You make much more money making bogus patents, then going around to consumer electronic companies extorting that year's dividends from then, rather than trying to compete the in low margin CE market for customers who only care about brand names and price. Americans don't save money, all the money of this country is locked up in corporate bank accounts. The real business is B2B today, not B2C.
