[help] connection problem 2 wire modem

Hello All, I have been using dsl for some time now and I have a problem. I am using the 2 wire modem and I keep getting an error page from the modem asking me to restart my browser, broadband error. I have cleared all temp files and restarted and the same page comes up. One thing I did try was to assign my computers DNS manually and the computer will surf. I tried the assign the modem's DNS manually and I still get the broadband error page. Here is my current modem info.

A downstream margin of 8dB is too low for a reliable connection. 50+dB downstream attenuation means either the inside wiring has problems or you're too far from the CO. Test the connection with the modem plugged directly into the test jack outside [or whatever you have between your inside wiring and the phone company's outside wiring] and see if the downstream margin goes up significantly [and the attenuation drops significantly]. If it does, try connecting the modem to a different jack indoors and/or rewire using a whole-house filter with a dedicated data line or drop to a lower speed profile.

the problem ended up being my fault. I was setting up a new wireless router for a friend and I plugged it in to my network. There is an error page set up in the 2 wire modem/router that is factory set to come up when it detects this. To fix the problem you need to call att dsl support and ask for the 2wire support desk. They will log into your modem, clear the error and set it up so you will not have this problem again.

I had the same issue (for a week) and the support line suggested I use the following.

Primary Domain Name Server: 68.94.156.1
Secondary Domain Name Server: 68.94.157.1

It worked as a band-aid, but meant I would have to go change all my connected devices (DS, Wii, PCs, PS3, Satellite Box). What fixed the problem for me was finding the reset button. It's (red) on the back, between the USB and network connectors. It seems to have erased everything, so write everything down first (key code, user name, password, etc.) You have to push it a few seconds till the Broadband/local lights go out. Then you'll need to set everything up again.
