| [Connection] Insight -> Comcast switch, connection problem.
Hello,
Last night around midnight, my area (Central IL) was serviced for the switch over to Comcast from Insight. Since that time, I am experiencing an odd problem; I am unable to ping, tracert, browse, or connect to www.worldofwarcraft.com.
Similar problems have been experienced by others, and based on their solutions I have tried a number of things, including: Getting a new IP address, flushing my DNS, changing DNS servers, ect.
I can tracert, ping, and connect to everywhere else just fine. Help! |

@uiuc.edu | I'm in champaign and I'm having similar issues. I can't reach any University of Ill sites, which is a slight problem because I go there. I can however use a proxy to surf the site.
I also can't visit hidemyass.com. |

@comcast.net | I had the same problems with secure sites but fixed it by changing the MTU setting in my router to 576 instead of 1500. |

| reply to Rokh I am in Rockford, IL. Starting two days ago, I couldn't log in my hotmail account and some of my bank accounts (Chase and Fidelity) even though I could successfully logged in others like Citibank. I wonder if anybody else had a similar problem or have an idea about what was going on with my computer. |

| I don't know about Chase and Fidelity, but Hotmail (actually, Windows Live, in general) had their own problems for much of Tuesday, Feb. 26; so that may be unrelated to other service problems you have seen.

| reply to Rokh Peoria here, and we were left without connectivity for a few hours on Tuesday because the modem was being crappy during the switch - finally came back but everything has been INCREDIBLY slow, taking 45 seconds or much longer to open a simple site.
The speed issue is affecting everything, even BBR. But haven't had any trouble logging into any sites. |
