Re: Bit torrent / internet access

Sounds like an issue with the router. You could try contacting LinkSys, they are fairly helpful. You could also check to see if a new firmware is available for your router. When all else fails, reset the router back to defaults and only change what is needed to allow BT to connect, then see what happens.

Sorry, i might not have stated in the first post, all 3 computers were opertional at the same time, its only after BT became active did 2 of the 3 drop offline. FYI, i always reset number of connections allowed, down to 50 range

Sounds like the NAT table was full. Already established connections continue to work (hence BT keeps running) but not new connections can be made (that's why nothing else works).

Two solutions, in the BT config set it to limit connections to something reasonable like 250. Or get another, more power router than can handle more connections.

What is the model of the Linksys router?

@comcast.net

I have a STRANGE issue. First i have comcast, my own linksys wireless/rj45 broadband router. No real special setups except port 9000 to 9005 open for bittorrent and a few others for games.

At bittorrent startup everything is fine, 2 desktops and 1 wireless laptop all doing fine.AFter about 1/2 hour, (than starts occurring much quicker) Everything will drop,except bittorrent, it keeps going, but laptop and desktop lose internet connection. Desktop just cant open page.But laptop wireless connection indicator seems to indicate my wireless router has stopped, i loss connection to my SSID. If i pull plug and reset, connection come back but in another 5 minutes, it will drop again. If i close bittorrent--no problems ANYTIME.
