Thanks to all that replied. That worked. The command number was 66.

Works like a charm.

As Raminto said, just overtype 5.4.1.8 (or 5.4.0.20), AND, the "Command=" for 5.4.1.11 is (I believe) 66. As I recall, to verify that, you can find that number by going to the advanced pages, expand PEP, then hover your mouse over PEP Summary in order to read the link it will go to. The PrintMsg part doesn't matter, just the number.

Your version 5.4.1.11 is not in the file. Put it in there (just replace the "5.4.1.8" with 5.4.1.11), save it and give a try. If it is still not working after stopping and restarting FAPMon, then you will also have to change the Command Number.

I do not know what number it should be, but somebody from this forum will know.

The modem defs file itself is a PM file type and will not open in notepad
Right click the .pm modem file, choose open, choose select from list, then choose notepad from the list of apps that come up.

No idea why you cannot open it. Have you tried other programs like WordPad?

Open the DW6000 modem def file with notepad and copy/paste it here.

After running modemdefsetup.exe, I rebooted the computer then stopped the program from its control panel. I also had saved a copy of the old fap.ini file and compared it to the new one and it is different so I can only guess that the change "took" for the modem defs also.

Any other thoughts ?

Did you stop HNfapmon and restarted it again from the control panel?

I have been running hnFapMon V.4.5.4 on a DW6000 until the modem software was updated to 5.4.1.11 dated Dec 3 2007.

Bucket remains at 100% and TX & RX values stay at 0.

I went to Sourceforge and ran modemDefsSetup.exe and had it update the modem defs and fap.ini files. No joy.

I am running WinXP Pro, G-11 1370
Anyone have any ideas ?
