DirecPath, Birmingham, Cameron at the Summit Apartments

Greetings,

I want to share my experience dealing with DirecPath which provides broadband and digital Cable to Cameron at the Summit Apartments in Birmingham Al. Apparently Apartment MediaWorks was bought out by DirecPath. DirecPath advertises on their sites speeds up to 10MBit/Second.
I called their customer service and was told the fastest connection available is 1.6 MBit/Second...Shared!
Could this be right?
Anybody else have experience with this?
I am now using BellSouth FastAccess DSL at their 3MBit level. Even though I am only a few thousand feet from the CO, I can't get their 6Mbit service. But that is a subject for a different post.

I have emailed info@direcpath.com 3 days ago and have not yet received a reply. I have a feeling I will not.

I can't believe DirecPath is offering such crappy service at this complex, very frustrating.

P.S. I have placed this post at Southeast city talk as well. I was not sure where the best place for this post would be.
