| reply to TKJunkMail Re: Verizon should choose more than one vendor.
said by TKJunkMail :That is the way to solve the problem. Obviously, Motorola, which lately can't do anything right, has problems building and supplying these sets to all the ISPs. The only solution is to give contracts to other builders. I am sure they can ramp up factories in China pretty quickly if several ISPs give contracts to other companies. Don't think this was a Motorola problem, more a Verizon/cox not placing an order far enough ahead. If you anticipate the need (driven by there own advertisements) for a "Boatload" (this scales far above the the usual forklift or truckload upgrade) you need to place a firm order with the Mfg. Motorola isn't in the position to build/warehouse millions of units, and sit on them hoping someone will place a big order. It's a side effect of lower margins/just in time Mfg strategies .. sometimes it's not just in time. |
