I'll be happy if

I'll be happy if they extend these rumored unlimited tiers to Nextel customers as well. With Hesse talking up iDEN now, I wouldn't be surprised.

If it's implemented, it would be across the board.

No.. it's not. The current plans are only on the Sprint network. Currently, Nextel customers can get the plan ONLY on the IC/Buzz phones... pure Nextel phones are excluded from any unlimited offers.

ugh.. no, iDen users would get the same plans as CDMA. The unlimited would not be just for CDMA. If that was the case, don't you think Hesse would have said this? iDen might be down, but it's not out (yet)

Do you think who ever obtains Motorola's Handset division will keep iden alive with only one major carrier?

Ok... and how is that unlimited plan on your Nextel Voice (iDEN) doing for you? Are you a Nextel user like me? Do you have sitting in front of you one of their advertisements that clearly state that these plans are available ONLY on sprint voice and IC/Buzz phones?

Seriously.. while just about all other plans HAVE in fact been made available to both sides, the unlimited plans are not available to the Nextel voice (iDEN) side of the isle. Even the corporate offices in the east won't allow it no matter how hard you try. They want people off the iDEN voice side.

edit: there is a chance that if Sprint rolls out the unlimited voice as a standard plan, which it isn't now (it's not even available in all markets at this time) that they may make it available on both sides.. but as of now, it's not.
