They ran a line down Thompson to Hudson, and I have not seen any new work for over a week, I do see a ton of cars in the CO lot but thats about it

I hate to spoil your fun but running the fiber doesn't always mean that FiOS will be ready anytime soon.. Fiber was run in my town (Caldwell, NJ) in July 2007 and became available for home installation in early February 2008 so the fiber sat on the pole for 7 months before anything happened.. Could be different for you guys though

I just think its stupid of them to run some fiber then not show up in the area.. its been 2 1/2 weeks and not one new run of fiber has been made in my area

I agree with you.. I thought it was stupid too when they ran fiber in my town and then let it sit on the poles outside for 7 months.. They don't make money on it until people start signing up, so why take so long? Weird..

But you'll see once installation gets closer to being available you'll start seeing tons of FiOS trucks in your area just adding to your anticipation.. I even went over to my Comcast cable box and told it that its days were numbered (a little dramatic but I HATED Comcast) and then you'll get a glorious letter telling you it's available.. Then you sign up and see that beautiful box on the wall in your basement and witness the insanely fast interent and amazing TV and see that comcast cable get cut, makes it all worth it..

C26...Lucky...where do you live in Caldwell? I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for FIOS at my home in Caldwell, near the Episcopalian church. But we do not have it. I saw West Caldwell and North Caldwell have it.

Sorry Caldwell_12 this message is delayed but I was in Puerto Rico on vacation.. I live in Caldwell on Park Ave, but FiOS should be ready to go all around town.. They have been working on it for 7 months and I see installers everyday

So its been a month since Verzion ran the 4 fiber trunks and conduit, and over a week since they marked out from the CO to the outside poles and no new work has started??? I just dont get why they have done no new work in over a month.

C26

@TCNJ.EDU

Exactly what I warned of.. They start runs but then it takes many months before everything is done and you can get FiOS.. It's frustrating but look on the bright side at least it's coming.. My cousin works for Verizon but lives in upstate NY and she says that fiber has no chance of being run for at least 5 years for her, but she really doubts it will ever get to her

my point, why run it and not come back and do more work in the area? It just makes no sense?? Any Fiber techs care to chime in?
