| Maxwell Smart to the Rescue
Didn't see this posted anywhere on here so thought I would share.
I was browsing this morning and happened on an article describing something I remember from the Get Smart series.
I am sure a lot of you that browse here will probably have to google Get Smart to figure out what I am talking about.:)
This is a very interesting piece of security. »backstopp.com/
I am assuming that the price tag is pretty hefty seeing how they have no mention of price as far as I can tell on their site. They only let you request information.
Still, I thought it was pretty cool. |

It certainly piqued my attention. |

| Thanks for the link JTM1051
IMO $19 a month is very reasonable if you are protecting something sensitive. |

| reply to CJ I question whether this would really work once thieves are alert to the possibility of "backstopp". Couldn't a thief simply put the laptop in a metal-foil/mesh lined bag or even metal case and defeat the remotely activated GSM wipe?
From there the thief could take the system to a metal enclosed area (cargo container) to access the stolen systems data. Or bring the system to our town, which has such excellent GSM service coverage by __&_. -- Do yourself a favor, just say no to anything Windows. |
