I really do not expect Qwest to be around much longer. Highest levels of management are concerned about cash flow and productivity. Then a customer complains the person trying to meet the numbers is up to and including termination for lack of customer service. The higher ups get automatic bonuses written into their contracts no matter their performance. To me high level management are sort of short term employees looking for a second or third retirement for a few years of service and maybe an even bigger payoff if Qwest is sold or goes bankrupt. My wife at one time was going to work for Qwest in customer service. Think it was USWest at the time and they paid well. The new Qwest for the same job pays less than what she makes at the job she has now and her current job has fewer headaches. Ok, her job has lots of headaches but they are just that normal work headaches. Nothing aimed at her so she just does her job and feels good about solving the headaches for their customers and the company. She is thankful she did not hire on at the time even with the previous higher pay. |
