Re: Incorrect DNS from Charter

These users are at all kinds of different setups.

These people are working from home and accessing this website to perform work.

Some are working after hours...some are work from home users.

charters DNS is flaky at best for me at times.

if you where to specify dns in your networking,
you can try using level3 dns at 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3
and that always works for me when charter's dns craps out.
That's exactly what the tech on the phone did last night, he said his 'lead' asked him to use those addresses.

The problem is... there are over 50 people that use charter in one location or another who are affected.

We've provided the manual IP address, that doesn't work well for all.

This has been happening for over 2 months, even after several people from CCCNMC calling Charter.
If you are saying you have a LAN with 50 people - then you may can do what I did in my Linksys router:
For the DHCP in the router I can give it 3 DNS addresses to us instead of the ones Charter assigns.
So I set up the Primary to be Charter's 1st DNS (since it's been pretty reliable for a good while) then the other two I used 3rd party DNS servers.
So any computer I connect to my router will be assigned the DNS servers I put in via DHCP rahter than Charter's.
