Interesting read in today's Philly paper. I love this quote from Comcast:
Industry experts refer to FiOS as "fiber-to-the-home," which leads to faster Internet speeds. Comcast says its own network contains 125,000 miles of fiber-optic wire, and the company is offering a higher-speed Internet service, sold as Comcast Blast. "Competition is nothing new, and we love our competitive position," said Comcast spokesman Jeff Alexander. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

| Interesting article. The part about Comcast offering "free" local government access and free channels for local public service is just a tad bogus though. Those services may be free to the town governments, but the subscribers are the ones subsidizing those services by paying higher rates. The net effect of this shell game of service charges is that the subscribers are paying a tax for town services, without that tax showing up on the town's balance sheets, just another hidden town tax. |

| reply to JeepMatt Great article, thanks for posting. They are making a dent in CC in our neighbor. Probably, 5%-10% right now (just a guess).
I did have trouble with this line:
"Verizon thinks it has a competitive advantage over Comcast in customer service, Ruesterholz said." He must have a different CS number to call. --
