A good friend of mine used to subscribe to Vonage. I asked him if his cancellation attempt yielded any of the horror stories that I have read about numerous times. He said absolutely not. They processed the cancellation according to his wishes and never charged his account again. He did sign up before they added cancellation charges though. Also, he had to buy his adapter outright when he signed up.
