Who cares. I don't need to buy any more copies of XP, and Microsoft support is useless. People seem to be addicted to Windows updates. I'll be happy when they're no longer needed.

I am one of the lucky ones did the beta test thing with Vista since last oct, so i was very versed on Vista and just had to get it when it was released to RTM ,and by participating in the free Vista business program, so that was the start, loved the Business version which is sort of Ultimate without the Media Center runs rock solid, and now I have Ultimate on Media Center HTPC, and on one other system, and they all run with out a glitch, with a reliability index rating in the 9.0+ yes there is a slight learning curve, but that is the same thing, that happened from window 98 to XP sometimes change is good or not if you like the OP system you are using then stick with it and do not change to Vista.

XP Pro installed on all three of my computers. I do not plan on installing Vista unless there is a compelling reason to. I also plan on purchasing additional XP Pro licenses for additional future machines.

Due to the severe lack of enthusiasm for Vista I think this would be a really excellent time for Linux developers to hurry up and develop a really, really ready for prime-time desktop Linux distro or two or three.

I have Vista Ultimate (pre loaded) on my laptop and XP on the rest of my machines. In the end I prefer XP over Vista. Won't matter when Microsoft stops selling XP in June.

It is XP on all of my PC's at least until Vista matures for a couple of more years.

I just switched to Vista last week. The jury's still out on whether "it rocks" or not!

What if "I use a Mac, sucka!" but run Vista on it? And what if I use Vista but don't think it rocks?

I don't think Vista improves enough over XP to recommend anyone bother upgrading. On the other hand, I don't think it's a big step backwards or anything like that. It seems like more of a minor upgrade to XP.

But I prefer XP/Vista to OSX (Sacrilege, I know). I run all Mac hardware (Mac Pro, Macbook Pro, and two Mac Minis) so I have all options open to me and can learn the ins and outs of OSX, and I prefer doing some things like editing video in OSX.

I can still do everything nice and fast that I need for home and work on my rock solid 5 year old Win.2K machine. Since building this rig, there was a game I wanted to play that required XP, and a DTV tuner that required Vista, but I figured once I upgraded my Video Card and OS, those new abilities were not worth the trouble, so I found another backward compatible game I like to play, and watch DTV in my Den, not my Desk

I have Vista on two machines and XP on three others. Happy with both OS. the Vista machines are new hardware and a good spec the XP machines are solid but would need new hardware (graphics/ram) to run Vista Aero well. Not worth the money. I voted Yes! Vista rocks as it is the main OS I use on a daily basis and I have grown to like its User Interface.

Nope, not yet. On Windows XP. Other computers around the house, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, and Windows 2000.

Plus some Live CDs of Unix/Linux.

XP Pro on my work horse machine and have been happy with it over the years. I did buy a Vista machine for a second PC because I want to be familiar with the OS to support clients when they have it. I try to dissuade my clients from buying Vista.

My take on Vista - eh. I have no strong feeling either way, though I do frequently wonder why they felt they had to move everything around or rename so many things. I disabled the fancy display features in the name of increased performance. I guess I'd have to say I'm not swept off my feet.

All my machines run XP with no reason to switch.

Just waiting for SP1 to buy a laptop with Vista on it.

I shopped a 64-bit laptop from Dell small business, and they couldn't give me a 64-bit version of Vista on it. They told me that version of the OS wasn't available to them. What's up with that?

Run Vista at work and love it and have no problems.. At home everything is XP and there is zero reason for me to upgrade an XP system to Vista... If I were to buy a new PC though I would probably opt for Vista since I would be configuring it from scratch and would make sure it had more than enough horsepower to run everything.

Vista rocks?!?
Are they sedimentary, igneous, or metamorphic?

I hope you all know that Vista is the penultimate version of Windows... Windows, Hasta La Vista will be the last Windows operating system!

I've been running Vista for the last year with no problems. Just jumped to the 64 bit version this week. I couldn't ask for more from it.

That being said, if you already have a computer with XP there isn't any real reason to upgrade. There aren't any programs that run only on Vista and XP will be supported for quite a long time.

when it comes to Microsoft I have to say Xp is the way to go. My two laptops that run windows, (one runs Xp and the other Vista), the acer(vista) will be getting an upgrade to Ubuntu Hardy in a few months and my sony viao will keep Xp...

Now all of my desktop computer (3, two workstations and one server are all running linux)
