All those Vista hits we are seeing on our websites must be our imagination....and the 120 million copies sold, and Microsoft's latest financials showing HUGE sales, and Vista completely eclipsing all Mac OS's and hitting 13% marketshare worldwide. Hmmm...I think Vista will be round for a while. |

I got here XP (for Canon Software and Photoshop) and Linux to go online (security reasons).
Anyway I always liked Linux best. I love it! No frills. |

Until then, I won't upgrade unless I have a reason too. XP does everything I need. |

In previous Windows versions, adjusting volume in one application would change it for the whole system. So if you set it low in Winamp, it would then be low in VLC, for example, and if you turned it back up in VLC it would then be high in Winamp.
Vista supposedly has fixed this so that apps have independent volume controls - so you can set the maximum system-wide and adjust each app without affecting others.
Is this not the way it actually works? Or do you not like this? I had the impression this was one of the actual positives of Vista. |

| reply to wifi4milez many users will remember when xp was introduced several of the same complaints were heard then from people who had "upgraded" from win98se. lot's of BSOD IRQ_L not less than or equal etc etc error messages my programs won't run etc etc having learned that the same thing is to be expected with all new releases I'll be waiting until Vista comes as VistaSP2. Please note that most of the mem use errors that plauged XP were resolved with the first service pack release. we'll see what happens this time around |

| reply to wifi4milez I continue to use Windows 2000. In my experience it is more stable than XP. And I rarely have an issue with it.
I don't like all the extra "showy" stuff MS put in XP...it just wastes too many resources.
And I have no desire to bother with Vista. I'd rather switch to Linux. |

I like the independent sound volume controls - It's a great feature. But with all apps that use sound having their own volume controls anyway (MPC, Foobar, and games,) It's a minor convenience. I'm talking about sound quality. I sound like I'm underwater listening to music with Vista. This is both with my GA-P35-DS3L's on-board Intel HD audio and Creative Audigy2 ZS card.
Don't get me wrong, I like Vista. It's just that I'm a bit of an audiophile. |

Alas, many people that ask for support has WinXP so I had to upgrade and know where the menu options are and all. |
