Apparently so. There are many good reasons to view Vista as WinME II, an unnecessary OS upgrade, particularly if you have money invested in hardware and software you still like that does not run well or at all with Vista. I just built two PCs that are fully capable of running Vista, but I don't want to have to pay to upgrade applications to newer versions that can work with Vista, or pay Microsoft's ridiculous prices for Vista, nor do I install OS's without stable SP1s when there are as many complaints about the OS as there are about Vista. (I realize that reason to not upgrade is about to vanish, but still... "never leap early" is a lesson I learned the hard way.)

The touted improvements in security are the only thing I personally miss sticking with XP. I don't give a rat's patootie about how pretty the OS is. Just give me an OS that can run my apps and hardware without a performance or reliability hit.
