| bandwidth usage stats totally inaccurate !!!???
Hi, I just checked my total bandwidth usage for Feb online, and it shows a total of 750 hrs online time, which is more than 31 DAYS!!!! and it's only the 24th now.....
Besides, the total bandwidth usage shown is 17.24 GB more than the stats given by my DU meter.
btw, my DU Meter always launches when Windows starts....
I just don't understand how come the difference is so huge....
Is there anything wrong?
Thanks |

| reply to Jean_22 Up until recently TekSavvy's bandwidth checker only updated when you disconnected. If you didn't disconnect near the end of January that usage got carried over into February when you disconnected for the first time. It now updates every 6 hours so this wont happen in future. If you're worried about overages TekSavvy averages your usage over 2 months so that usage that got carried over from January didn't get counted in January which you're averaged against, making it all work out. |

| Like Taylorbb said. If you were connected in January for a long time and disconnected in February after the change over, The hours would have carried over. This is no longer the case and will be accurate for March. -- TSI Gabe - TekSavvy Solutions Inc. |

| reply to victorinoxs hey guys im using net meter and got 1 question...does netmeter calculate the bandwidth that everything passing through my router i using, including my xbox and all computers on wireless? or does it only calculate bandwidth on my own computer using the meter? |

Your best bet, however, is to simply use the TekSavvy bandwidth monitor. |

| reply to xPBxNaStY said by xPBxNaStY :is there any meter i can use to track the bandwidth of anything going in and out of my router? Most router-modems only feature somewhat basic router functionality. Heck, even most consumer-level routers lack many useful network management features.
Just like Guspaz, I too am running Tomato on my Linksys WRT54 router and I really like the amount of extra details available through its web interface compared to the stock Linksys firmware. The ST5x6/780 routing features are no match for Tomato. |

This is no longer the case and will be accurate for March. I think there is still some problem with the bandwidth usage tool. As I'm typing this, the time is about 4 AM ET, March 1. I just checked my usage stats for March, and it says I've been online 114 hours (4.75 days) and already used 40 GB!! TSI Gabe, could you please double-check that the bandwidth monitor tool is working correctly? |

1 edit | Yeah something is definitely wrong with it.
February (appears to be normal):
March:
Edit: haha, anyone using CapSavvy or my mIRC bandwidth script should see a monster number for estimated usage. CapSavvy is showing about 33.5TB and my mIRC script shows 40.3TB for me. |

| It requires at least two 6 hour updates. The tool then calculates the delta.
What happens is that you have an active session from Feb and then it updates when you go in march that you have used lets say 200gb for your session...but it makes this update in March. So since the tool doesn't have any other information...it will simply say that you have used 200gb. 6 hours later...it will update saying you used lets say 201gb. Then the tool will determine...201-200 = 1gb. Simple as that. -- TSI Gabe - TekSavvy Solutions Inc. |

It has now been more than 6 hours since we entered March, whether or not you account for leap years yet something is still broken. How is it possible for a user to be online for 114 hours when we are only 9 hours into March Fool's Day?
(The CapSavvy shot is just to indicate that you are not alone.)
Update: After I just reset the PPPoE session TSI's page shows 5 hours online and a GB of bandwidth. So it seems that the customer still has to reset from their end in order for the correct numbers to display, even though TSI's system seems to be recording the data correctly all along. |

Think you misread what TSI Gabe said "It requires at least two 6 hour updates." so 12hours b4 u get an accurate read on your bandwidth unless u manually reset ur session like u did.
As for CapSavvy mine is currently showing exactly what is being shown on the TSI Bandwidth checker page. So i dunno what could be going on there. |
