These companies are out to make money as you know. What better way is there to make more money? that's right, OFFER MORE. That little email that Charter sent out is only a way to fluff up the customers to lead them to believe that charter cares about what the customer says.

I have Charter and the plant around here was upgraded a while back. I have no doubts the infrastructure here can handle 16mbit, however I'm *not* holding out hope for the upgrade any time soon because there is simply no competition in this area besides Verizon DSL (Fios is still a loooong ways away) and Charter's current 10mbit is in reality pretty good.
