Cable TV exists today because it was a necessity, not a luxury. Industry just figured out they could sell it to folks who didn't need it (those with OTA reception).
Cable TV needs re-regulation. There are still millions of customers who have no other choice than cable, and never will. |

The cable television YOU were talking about is STILL AVAILABLE from cable companies, at a government imposed price which often represents a LOSS for cable company. Lifeline cable is about $9 per month here, all in. Some places is more; with the price controlled by the town government, NOT the cable company. That part of cable television that you were referring to is STILL REGULATED. This conversion being discussed affects part of cable service that HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH making up for poor OTA reception in remote areas. Nothing. |
