[Info] Wifi at Newarks Airport

Hello!

I'm gonna stop by Newark's Airport for a couple of hours and I was wondering if there's (free) Wifi hotspots.
I got no information from google, only random websites.
I'll appreciate any information about it
Thank you

There is wifi. However, I never tried to connect to it with a laptop--it never worked with my HP iPAQ though.

Edit: According to this PDF: »www.panynj.gov/aviation/pdf/wifi···hure.pdf you do have to pay for it.

At last word, it was 6.99 or 7.99 for a day pass. I don't think there's free access, except perhaps from selected airlines.

I'm flying with Continental Airlines

I can't believe Airports charge for something as basic as internet.
it's pointless, People don't usually spend a whole day at a airport. Plus we already pay fees to the Airport.

I can't believe it either, but sometimes have to live with it. I've spent a fair amount of time at that airport.

I've been in various terminals throughout the NY area and some areas have it for free while others charge. Same elsewhere throughout the US.

It costs money so someone needs to pay for it. If you're traveling on business, the fee is insignificant. If you travel a lot I'm guessing you're a club member of some airline. I know if you go to the President's Club for Continental in Newark it's free access.

I thought Newark was in New Jersey .

Aren't we already paying more than enough for things like that? I mean, it's kind of like if we get charge for using the bathrooms. I bet you that keeping clean every single bathroom of an Airport is more expensive than a free wifispot.

The New York area airports are all run by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. I know that the last time I flew Jet Blue and Delta out of JFK, there was free wifi- but there wasn't general free wifi there.

Maybe it was Jet Blue that had free wifi. I can't recall.

Also, for someone traveling a lot I'd suggest non-wifi based solution. I have Verizon cell service with a Blackberry with what they call tethering. That allows me to connect my notebook to my phone and use it as a wireless modem. Verizon charges $15/mo for the service.

You must be too young to remember pay toilets, evidently.

I'm not too young, I remember several times my cheap father making my brother and I crawl under the door to use the bathroom, and it was ONLY a dime!!!!
I believe NYS made it illegal to charge to use a restroom in the state many years ago..

A dime? They were a nickle when my Mom used to drag me mercilessly from store to store to store, and made me crawl UNDER the door.

That's gross. I don't like walking into a public restroom let alone getting anywhere near the floor!
