| Re: Just the beginging The AT&T loop price hike is for their last mile service in the 13-state legacy SBC region. It should only affect DSL prices related to the DSLAM and ATM networks for at&t Yahoo! HSI subscribers. There should be no impact on the ILEC DSL prices in AT&T Southeast (the former Bellsouth FastAccess, which is now called, "AT&T FastAccess), or the reselling of CLEC services outside of the AT&T ILEC footprint (AT&T Worldnet DSL Service, which resells Covad connections; and their prices are controlled by the regional ILECs serving Covad). Nor should it directly impact the AT&T Tier 1 backbone (AT&T Worldnet Services, or ATTW), which provides transit to Comcast in Florida.
Do remember, before AT&T bought Bellsouth, SBC bought AT&T. The only thing SBC changed was the name of the company; management is still the same as it was under SBC.
