[Other] Future Nine: Beta testers needed!

Hi guys!

Since we're talking about beta testing so much lately, we have decided to come up with our own Beta offer.

1. Sign up to our service at:
Choose the "America Free" plan when you register.

2. Sign up to our bug tracker and open a case with the subject line "BBR Beta".

3. As Bruce likes to say- in order to keep the HOGS off this offer, please make a $10 payment on our site. Your payment will be fully refunded.

4. Enjoy free service!

5. If you encounter any service issues- please open a ticket in our bug tracker. If you have any suggestions on how to improve service, neat new features, or just general notes on how you think a VoIP company should run itself, open a bug tracker ticket.

This offer includes unlimited incoming (567 number) and unlimited outgoing to the US, and all the features we offer. You will be able to call other countries too if you wish to - but that will cost you. We might expand the beta with free service to other countries too for users who are especially helpful.

We have about 50 spots for beta testers currently, first come first served! Hope you enjoy this free service and hope to hear from you soon!

A bit of a description of the hardware/services would be helpful - as the web site doesn't have much of anything in that regard.

Is this a computer/softphone based service, or something with a hardware component ?

Exactly what I was thinking.

"How do I make a phone call?", "Do I need an ATA?", "Payment methods?"...

Very true- I will have that changed!

Yes- you do need an ATA, softphone, or Asterisk. We do not provide hardware at this point (although planning to very soon).

Thanks for the input!

nitzan...

you registered with broadband reports only two days ago... how do we know this is legit when you ask for payment?

You have a point there.

But as far as I know PayPal customer protection guarantees you 100% against merchant fraud. If we do not refund your money, PayPal will force us to!

But we are 100% legit. Please feel free to look us up on the Delaware Division of Corporations at:

Thanks, and keep the feedback coming please!

What type equipment should I use with your service?.

I signed up and made the $10 payment. There is no plan information in the account as the noted "America Free". Only looks like a Pay Per Call service. I used the provided sip credential to register my softphone but got a "404 not found" error. I've submitted the "BBR Beta" bug tracker case.

I just refunded your payment and activated your account. You should be able to connect now- please let me know if you're having any issues!

Thanks!

Any device supporting SIP should work. This includes most Analog Telephone Adapters, Asterisk and similar software, and softphones.

In the process of updating this on the website.

That's quick. Paypal notified the refund and my softphone registered fine. I tried to make a call but was asked for a pin. I'll figure it out and report back the call quality.

The PIN request issue should be cleared now. Definitely something I will need to automate. Already learning from this!

Thanks. Made a call, very clear. Zero deduction from my balance. I saw several big wholesale termination providers in the rate card. At least I know the quality of betamax voicetrading is very good.

We're actually using another provider for US termination, they give us better rates, better quality, and outgoing Caller ID which we think is very important.

Hi,

I tried to sign up a few minutes ago. I received the comfirmation email. I cliked the link in the email and was redirected to the activation page. I forgot to write down the password. The message is "Your account cannot be activated please contact the website administrator or retry later."

Please help me signing up!

Call me foolish, call me suspicious --- but the first three responding posters (one of whom is a Moderator for this Forum) are all long time registered members. DBMaven, cayuga and nicegirl exhibit doubt and raise valid concerns, given the lack of info on this "new" provider. There posts are honest.

On the other hand, we have an OP by nitzan, someone who just registered two days ago and already has 23 posts in the BBR Forums -- most of which are queries about a bunch of other VoIP providers. Suddenly, he's pushing his own VoIP service -- about which absolutely nothing is known, no background is given, and only vague particulars are specified (here and on the website).

At least he is being honest in admitting from the get-go that it is his company, rather than acting like the usual shills we've seen come and go in the past.

But then, lo and behold, we are met with the sudden appearance of pete42 and dslvisitor, the former having registered with BBR two days ago and the latter just registering today. pete42 asks "What type equipment should I use with your service?" I interpret that statement -- using "should I" rather than "can one" -- as being somewhat collusional, rehearsed.

Given the scores of choices for a wide variety of existing VoIP providers with good and bad and mixed reputations, isn't it amazing that two absolute newcomers are already signed up with this "unheard of" new provider?!

I'm not trying to be bitchy. It's just that I've been around the BBR Forums long enough to detect the faint odor of Mephitis mephitis when it wafts in.

I can confirm CID does not work with voicetrading, at least this is true for their $ account and termination in the US. Their sales dept is quick to respond but their tech dept is very slow or will never respond to your inquiry.

Hi N9MD, my account is newly registered does not mean I am a newbie here. I registered this new account solely because I signed up MyGlobalTalk yesterday which revealed my personal information, so I registered this new ID to communicate with Bruce. And now here comes Future Nine that had my personal information. It is a good timing to use this new ID.

Hi N9MD ...
Hey, dslvisitor, welcome to the BBR forums. And given your QTH in Monmouth Junction NJ -- a fine upstanding community, composed only of sincere and honest citizens -- I am sure your motivation to sign up with this F'n (Future Nine, that is) provider is altruistically motivated.

Let us all know how it works out!

lol- I have been having the exact same issues with them. Sales responds within hours, tech support within days (if at all). Which is exactly why I chose to move most of my traffic away from them. Will still use them for some traffic, but not the majority.
