| [Connectivity] Maryland - HELP: Suspected upstream problems!
I was having problems with my Motorola Surfboard 4200 (SB4200) rebooting recently due to as the error log said, T4 timeouts and async range probs.
I just purchased a Motorola SB5101 to see if it was a bad cable modem. It's not.
I'm having erratic problems loading websites where it will load and stall and crawl. The log is filled with errors. docsdiag reported at one time a count of T3 timer expires of over 9000 untill it reset and now it reports 169 and within a matter of mins. it jumps up by at least 10 counts.
I've had 3 techs come out and all they do is measure the signal and say it's fine and say they "don't know what to tell me" because the signal is good. Here's the levels as reported by docsdiag:
Downstream received signal power = 7.5 dBmV Upstream transmit signal power = 48.3 dBmV SigQu: Signal to Noise Ratio = 33.6 dB
SigQu: received without error = 173364567 codewords SigQu: correctable errors = 585 codewords SigQu: uncorrectable errors = 0 codewords SigQu: microreflections = 31 dBc
These errors occur almost always within 5 min of each other or less..

I don't know what's causing this!? I have two drops. One dedicated to my cable modem which is the only one I can use because if i put it on a splitter, the upstream power level jumps up to the 50s!
I'm almost positive that somewhere along the route, my upstream signal gets fudged.
Anyone??
Thanks,
