Here is the same shot with landcover. I wouldn't bet on it working.

This landcover thing - somehow they checked and added the real tree heights? Is that data available for eastern Ontario?

 Not "Real" tree heights, only estimates based on colour. The one landcover file covers all of North America and perhaps more. One can change the heights for each of the colours to match your region.
