| reply to FordBronco Your modem shows its in sync at the full 6mbps rate, but your noise margin is really low, which is probably causing errors and thus your lower than optimal speeds. The error counts shown aren't useful without knowing how long its been since you last re-synced, but definitely suggest line quality problems.
I would look into getting a home-run line and a POTS splitter to hopefully bump up the line quality a little to where 6mbps can run more cleanly. |

| reply to FordBronco Your current line readings are below. They look a little marginal but you are in sync at the full 6016. Do you lose sync on the line at all? Even if it is marginal as long as you are getting an intermittent connection you should be fine.
What speed are you getting?
DN STREAM SPEED The line is running at the maximum bit rate of 6016 kbps. UP STREAM SPEED The line is running at the maximum bit rate of 768 kbps. DN STREAM S/N The line noise margin equals the target noise margin of 6.0dB. UP STREAM S/N The line noise margin is 11.0dB, which is above the target noise margin of 6.0dB. DN STREAM POWER The line power is 18.0dBm, which is below the maximum of 20.0dBm. UP STREAM POWER The line power is 12.0dBm, which is below the maximum of 13.0dBm. DN STREAM LINE CAPACITY The line is already running at 98% of relative capacity on downstream transmission path. UP STREAM LINE CAPACITY The line is already running at 83% of relative capacity on upstream transmission path. |

| Line always was rocks solid.
440KB down and 40KB up (not including overhead).
my old westell modem died a week ago and i got a D-Link as replacment from DSLX and i noticed my UL speed went up liek 10-20KB/s. Thats why i askedhere again.
I justran a speed test and i think you guys bumped me up already.
Download: 5080 (Kbps) Upload: 658 (Kbps)
Normally its around 3400ish Kbps. |

| Just wanted to post an update and express my gratitude.
Since i got bumped up last night the line didn't went down once,as solid as before.
I am happy to get 220Kb/s more now. (1/3 more speed than i had before)
Will update my review but i wait for the newsgroup announcement in the next couple of weeks, cause i will probably add this to my review.
Thank you again and still a happy customer since early 2003. |
