Driving home on the Parkway tonight I forgot near what exit (bound to hear it on the news) a 18 wheeler was on the parkway again and you know what happens next and a low bridge.
traffic was pretty bad going north. |

| I saw that one night on the Hutch coming home. He really smacked the bridge too! Luckily it was one of those built-to-last-forever stone bridges, the truck lost the argument big time! They do that in Danbury too, trying to fit a 16 foot truck under a 10 foot bridge. I definitely wonder what they were thinking (or NOT!)

Seems like they come in packs. |

| reply to Subaru It was before exit 41 (Westport/Wilton) northbound. I too got caught in it last night just before 7 pm. The strange thing was the truck was about 100 yards past the bridge and it's trailer appeared to be crumpled badly and split in half. And there was only a single police car behind it. It took about 20 minutes to crawl from exit 40 to 41. Not fun. For some reason though I seem to see a semi's or big RV every now and then on the Wilbur Cross between RT 34 and the Sikorsky bridge.
Also some automotive GPS units have a setting for vehicle and based on that setting it will NOT route onto roads like the Merritt/Wilbur Cross if you select "Truck". |
