Also you do not have to have a static IP address in order to do line monitoring. There are Line Monitoring Groups in many of the ISP forums as well some of the regional chat forums. Although I'm not experiencing serious slowdowns, just erratic speeds, your post motivated me to do a line quality test, and there was that same pesky router that's plagued us for ages, despite VZ's assurance months ago that it was being addressed: 130.81.20.179 39% It will be interesting to see if that router pops up a lot in the reports from this new service! And, if problem routers are identified, if VZ is a bit more proactive in addressing them.
