 | [Vista] Getting rid of passwprd I'm hoping to get a quick answer to this. I'll be selling my laptop to a co worker and would like to clean it up as much as I can. One thing that I want to wipe clean is my pass wrod for the system. The password i'm talking about is the one that you have to input when you first log on. I want to leave it so the new owner will be able to create their own password. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! -- Out of my mind and out of control! |

| Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Remove Your Password.
But if I were disposing of a computer, I'd overwrite the entire disk, and then reinstall the OS. That gets rid of the password too |

 | Thanks for that. The maching is only three months old and I don't have more than six files on there. No need to wipe out and reinstall.
Thanks again!
