| [netopia] help with 3346n-ent port forwarding issue...
i am trying to help a friend forward some ports on this modem/router.
i don't know the exact details on why the modem is in this mode, but i do know that he cant reverse it. this is what the netopia tech support said on the phone when he upgraded his service.
basically, the modem/router cannot be accessed via gui in the web. we have to telnet to the modem to do all the work.
i setup all his internal PCs so they should work properly once the correct ports are opened on the router.

that is the page where we did most of our reading. i know my way around the port forwarding screens on most routers, but this thing is killing me...
we know that its not called port forward, instead, its filtering. so we tried to create a new filter with his wan ip and his lan ip and port 3390, yes, i changed the listening port of RDC and i confirmed it, it works on the LAN.
i need someone who has this exact router or anyone familiar with it to help me out with the port forwarding.
please don't tell me to type in the proper ip and ports and click ok, obviously that didn't work and there seems to be more to it than that.
i would like to see if someone on here knows exactly the issue i am having before i start posting ip addresses and taking screen shots of the areas that i am having trouble with. whoever helps me will have a good idea of what the telnet session screens look like, after all, i am looking for someone who has experience with this identical model. i am very certain that there is 1 small step i am missing.
thanks and please ask questions if needed. |

i have tried these directions above, but it still isnt working.
obviously i changed port number 23 to 3390.
this is just a nightmare, i hope someone can help shed some light on this... |
