Modem reboot caused by ???

Hello, thanks for taking the time to read my support post.
I currently have Midcontinent Communications as my cable provider. They have been excellent and their support has been working through this with me the entire time. They have had their tech support guys out to my house several times over the past couple of weeks and we have yet to find a reason for my issues. The issue that I am having involves the modem itself. The modem I originally started with was an AmBit Model No. :U10C019 The modem worked fine other than when a load would be put on it, for example a speed test, it would reboot. By rebooting I mean it would act as if I pressed the reset button on the back. The lights would all go off except for the power light and then it would go through the cycle of reconnecting and obtaining an ip. The tech support guys came over and inspected the cable running to the modem and the levels and whatever else they check with their meters. We then replaced the modem and power supply and the same exact thing is happening. Thats not the odd part. We then switched out the modem to a non wireless model. (I did forget to mention that the wireless modem was connected to my laptop vie wireless and via ethernet cable to my desktop pc). The modem we hooked up was AmBit model: U10C018. It is a standard modem without router or wireless built in. It works flawless and has not lost a connection yet. I lack the ability to use my laptop wireless so I decided to get myself a Motorola SBG940 modem. Was told this is an excellent modem and would have all of the features that I needed. I connected the modem, called the tech support number for MidCo and we added the MAC address and some other stuff so it would activate. The modem would flash the DS light several times, then the DS light would come steady and the Online light would come on and it would reboot the modem, exactly the same as the AmBit except the power light would go out as well. We went through some troubleshooting and thought that it could be the PC itself. I replaced the NIC card and ethernet cable running to the modem. Still the same results. I then took the modem to my basement where the cable comes in from outside and hooked it up directly to the main cable line, I removed the splitter that runs to the E911 phone box. Now the modem is plugged straight to the main line and is not hooked to a PC via ethernet or wireless. The exact same thing happens. The tech support guys ran a temporary cable from my house to the green box in the corner of my back yard and connected it there. Now everything is new and has been replaced at least once. Any modem that has wireless built in will constantly reboot either while obtaining the connection or once connected and a load is put on it. The tech support guys said that they have never had this problem before and the surrounding area is using similar equipment and no problems have been reported. My assumption would be that there is something in the signal causing the reboot, but that doesn't make much sense because the regular non-wireless modem has no problems. Unless the wireless handles the signal differently and their is some conflict causing it. The plan I am on is their cable and phone. I have the MidCo Max which is basically an unthrottled download speed with a 768kbps upload. All modems were brand new, all cables were brand new. Hope someone has an idea to solve this. I am aware I cab hook a router and then the wireless would work but I would prefer to use the new modem and would rather not have more equipment than needed. If all else fails I will resort to that. Thanks
