Bet this is driven by huge demand from IBM, Microsoft and others that have tens of thousands of employees in India and all over Asia.

It's just realisation that the U.S. is quickly becoming a third world nation. A third world nation doesn't need a first class internet connection for the masses. We need more loans from China and Dubai to keep the ever thinning veil hiding that we can't afford our current life style.
