[OS X] Mac MIni and External Firewire Stuff

buckonator : I just got a new Mac Mini so I can make the jump to Intel and Leopard. I love it - however, (you knew this was coming) when I have a simple Belkin 6 port firewire hub hooked to the mini, I have a LaCie external drive and a Plextor DVD burner hooked to it. When the hub is connected, iTunes loading is SLOOOOOW (a large library of tunes is on the external drive). iTunes is so affected by this, it even clipped off some podcasts I was downloading. Toast 8, which works fine on the internal drive, freezes when I try to burn a disk when I connect the burner direct to the mini, all is sweetness and light. Also, I booted the mini with nothing (hub, external, etc) plugged in the port, quick boot and no iTunes issues. Anyone experience these types of problems with minis and external hubs ? Just curious - I will try some different cables, etc - on the hub to see what happens. Also, I can't remember if an area existed on this site where us Kool Aid drinkers adv. parts/systems for sale. Right now, I got a 1G stick that came from my mini (upgraded to 2G) and soon I will have a dual 2G G5 with a dual layer lightscribe DVD drive. Anybody interested ? Thanks you guys are the best.
