Because it's the moral thing to do... Obviously you weren't around or don't remember the ORIGINAL reason for the P2P Revolution.... People were pissed at the record companies charging $20 for a CD full of 90% filler music.

Charging a little amount of money is only fair... And don't pull that BS that they're going to make millions even at a small amount... They deserve it then. We live in a free country, and it's the morally right thing to do... If you can't afford it truly, then maybe I'll side with you... But just saying that there is NO reason to purchase something even at a very fair price is simply STEALING...
