All the telcos have to do is lobby to have all of those govt. taxes, fees, and surcharges removed. If I weren't required to pay almost half my bill to the govt., then I wouldn't mind so much returning to Verizon.
(Oh, and $5 for a dial tone? $6.50 for CallerID? Yeah, riiight.) |

| Exactly... POTS = multiple plans with tons of useless fees/taxes/surcharges/unfees for a dialtone You _can_ get a $40/unlimited package, but in traditional telco fashion, you have to jump through hoops to get it (i.e. online order only, requires certain restrictions...etc. My $40 + $5 Canada line costs almost $60/month
If VoIP $40 = $40 + no B.S. fees, I'd considering switching tomorrow. -- Canada = Hollywood North |

True, but reality is, even if the government did remove all the fees, the telcos would STILL charge the same amount. |
