Re: [Phish] Hotmail Scam? Please help, I'm in severe distress

you received those emails just because. I get them, and many will tell you they've got them, and it's not because they responded to anyone. as far as them being sent, well, perhaps she answered a phish email and divulged the password and someone else has gained access. .

even tho she is/was a best friend, it's never good to give your password out. they can easily create their own email account for free at many places, including hotmail.

do not stress about it, try not to. it's just easier to delete the emails and not respond to them. hotmail is a good place to get these types of email. I read my hotmail account maybe once a month, and i have literally hundreds of spam and pr0n mail.

It would be wise to change your password immediately either way

Everyone gets those emails it seems.
Unfortunately not all are aware of this problem.
If you open your sent box and there are actual entries, then the only explanation is that

a. she did them
b. you have multiple personalities and some of them are more riske.
