[Fiber] Slow on one computer

1. »/tweakr/block:···a=normal

2. This is a pretty typical result from a speed test (from Megapath in California)

This is one from Speakeasy in San Francisco:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 875 kbps (109.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2050 kbps (256.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

3. »/linequality/nil/2359152

4. Verizon FiOS 15/15 using the standard ActionTec router supplied by Verizon. System is connected directly to the router.

5. DHCP

6. N/A

7. Windows XP SP2

8. 15mb/15mb

9. On a network via ActionTec but no other computers actively using connection during the above speed test. Other systems on the network show acceptable speeds ranging from 13-14mb up and down (including a wireless Vista laptop)

10. ActionTec MI424-WR

11. N/A

Previous speed tests on this system have been in the 13-14mb range (up and down). I have run Spybot S&D and did a full scan with Norton AV. The only major change on the computer was that I recently installed PCTV To Go (Pinnacle's version of Hava) which allows me to stream/record live tv on both the internal/home network and over the internet.

Where I really notice this issue is when using newsleecher with 10 connections to Giganews -- used to be a relatively steady 14mb and now I rarely see over 10mb and the speed is all over the place but never topping 10mb.

Thanks!

• I recently installed PCTV To Go (Pinnacle's version of Hava)

Uninstall it.

• Drop the RWIN to something reasonable. Try 175200

Thanks for the RWIN value (I was pretty sure it was whacked and didn't know what a better value would be).

I went ahead and uninstalled the PCTV To Go software and got back to normal speeds. Unfortunately, that's not a real solution if I'd like to continue viewing my TV remotely over a wired connection. But I'll go bug the Pinnacle or Hava folks about that

Thanks again!
