Re: [ fiber tech] back to my mac

I'm not a mac person, however I did take a look at the Apple thread that tobycable1 posted.

From that thread, it appears that BTMM attempts to use UPNP to auto-configure the port forwarding on the router, but that the response from the Actiontec is larger than what the mac is expecting.

Since UPNP won't work, you will need to configure port forwarding manually.

1) Logon in to the Actiontec
2) Click on FIREWALL icon at the top
3) Answer "are you really, really sure?"
4) Select PORT FORWARDING from the menu on the left
5) On the PROTOCOL line, select ADD.
5a) Enter BTMM for the service name
5b) Click ADD Server ports
5c) Select PROTOCOL ->TCP
5d) Select SOURCE PORT -> ANY
5e) Select DEST PORT -> Single, enter 4500
5f) Click APPLY. Rinse and repeat from 5a for UDP *.
6) Back on the EDIT SERVICE screen, click APPLY.
7) You should now be back on the ADD PORT FORWARDING RULE screen. Your should see the port forwarding rules you created for BTMM. Select the host name of your mac from the pull-down, or enter it's static IP address on the right.
8) Leave the connection type as ALL BROADBAND.
9) Leave the forwarding rule as SAME AS INCOMING
10) Click APPLY. You should now see your rule in the PORT FORWARDING screen.
11) Click APPLY on the PORT FORWARDING screen

* Note. There was some disagreement on the Apple thread as to whether BTMM used TCP or UDP port 4500, so I suggest opening both.
