To provide what is essentially public information?

Government data? Traffic control? Water meter reading? Bloomberg is an idiot. NY just seems to spawn, create, and host bad politicians.
And this is just 1 more reason taxes in NYC are what they are.

Sales tax rate: New York City 8.375% (4% of that to the city)
City income tax rate: 1.9% to 4% on top of state income tax
Real Estate tax: Some of the highest in the country

NYC overall is one of the most taxed place in the US.
Don't forget the **18 PERCENT** tax on parking!

You think NYC is taxed high?

Try the outter boroughs. Suffolk and Nassau counties average $5000 ~ $10,000 per property, and this doesn't include their Village Tax.

Bloomie has worked the stock market to otherwise not tap property owners FURTHER for the 17% property tax hike he imposed 3 years ago.

Bloomie is an idiot by many, if not all counts, but I think you would see higher real estate taxes in some of the other large metro areas as well.
