ITouch Connections Problems

Hello,

I just bought an ITouch ipod and I am having trouble connecting to the internet. I went through all the right procedures. My Ipod picks of when turned on the WiFi radio is on but it won't connect. I have a Westell 327W router and my ip address is not correct on my Itouch. My Ip starts with 192 and the itouch says 169.

Can someone help me Please

The "169" likely means that it is failing to connect to your network, or is failing to get a DHCP address.

I suggest you turn off security on your 327w WiFi settings, and check whether you can connect without security. Once you have that working, turn the security back on. The purpose of this check is to see whether you are having connectivity problems or security problems.

With my 327w, if I click on the "Wireless" tab, then select "security", there is a "Wireless Security" button with choices "disable", "WEP", "WPA-PSK". The "disable" would turn off security.

Best to note the current settings, so you can restore them. Hmm, I think there is a "backup" option for saving current settings.

Recently got the ipod Touch also. It had the new apps already installed. Had alot of trouble so I did a total software restore and then everything just works great. Maybe they all need software restore!

The touch works fine with security on. It connects to wep, wpa, wpa2, 802.11b/g - all you need to do is enter the correct settings, and have a correctly configured wifi router.

I'm not offering to walk you through all that setup, I'm just telling you it's not the touch that's the problem.
