·AT&T DSL Service
| This is what I read at Copper.net in the terms of service agreement...
Idle Timeout User agrees to have their online session automatically terminated after fifteen (15) minutes of consecutive inactivity. Inactivity is defined as less than 500 bytes of data transferred between User's modem and the Copper.net Service.
Maximum Single Session User agrees to have an online session automatically terminated after four (4) hours of consecutive time, regardless of data transferred during such specific online session.
You might want to check out www.dialup.cc for $4.94 a month they allow you 350 hours a month. That's more than 10 hours a day. Here is what Dialup.cc terms of service says about usage...
The Company reserves the right to disconnect users who are idle or have been connected for an exorbitant amount of time. These parameters may be changed at any time at the Company's discretion. The purchase of a dedicated line is available to any of the Company's customers. Users that use over 350 hours per month will be suspended until the next month. 'Unlimited Access' means unlimited number of times a user can connect. It does not mean a user can stay on for 24 hours a day seven days a week. This account is intended for normal use only.
In my opinion Dialup.cc sounds better than Copper.net although I have never used either one of them.
I am using AOL dial-up for $9.95 a month which is unlimited usage. I'm on here most of the time around 5 hours at a time and haven't got disconnected. I get the best connection speed with AOL is the main reason I use it. I know most people hear AOL and say no way, but I installed it and then uninstalled all the extra crap that comes with it.
It's hard to find a dial-up ISP these days that don't have some sort of usage restriction. That's another reason I've stayed with AOL, unlimited usage. |
