speed test results

Hi,

I've noticed a slow-down in my internet speed lately. I did a speed test and the results are posted below. I talked to tech support and they told me this is a good speed and didn't seem interested in following up by offering any suggestions. It seems slow to me especially compared to other numbers. Could anyone help?

Thats quite terrible. I would see about checking your signal levels on your modem.

I've noticed a bit of a slowdown tonight. Last night was fine though. Yesterday there was 4 Mountain trucks on my street, not sure what was going on.
Here are tonights results, they're slower than usual but def. not as bad as yours.

I checked the signals and they are:

Downstream: 7db

Signal/noise: 38db

Try these speedtests
»speedtest.sourcecable.ca/
»speedtest.cogeco.net/
»speedtest.net/ (toronto, fenton, chicago)
I'd call again. Send techsupport at mountaincable.net an email as well so they have it documented. Run the other speedtests as well, dont just run the Mountain Cable one.

1st test today

2nd test today

I have certainly noticed some "stuttering" in speed lately and there seems quite a disparity between speed tests, I have also had problems with the phone dropping calls.

However, your speeds seem ridiculously low!

Thanks for the help.

I ended up unplugging the power and the connection overnight and then replugged everything in again in the morning. This seemed to fix it.

I had unplugged it a few times before for a few minutes, but it didn't do anything to help. I guess it just need a nice long reboot.
