| [Equipment] Help Me! Problem with Incoming Calls
I am new member of this forum as I am new user of voip service. I found this forum is helpful for all voip users, in this regard I have also problem with incoming calls on ATA device which I want discuss with you experts. Initially we 2 partners used one ATA device SPA-1001 with one service (k5.com.au) for receiving calls on our Pakistan DID number and it was working well, we didnt need to reset ATA device any time and it was ringing frequently for incoming calls. After that I purchased separate device attached with same router and I purchased DID number from another service (voipvoip.com). There was problem with incoming calls on both ATA devices our phones were not ringing frequently, they were ringing only when we reset ATA devices so we all time need to reset them .Now I have changed my provider due to this problem I thought may be problem is due to providers service but again I face same problem even my partner need to reset device before receiving calls otherwise we cant listen ring for incoming calls. After visiting forums I configured port forwarding and LAN IP setup for only my own device but still same issue and when I set Static route for my ATA device like 192.168.1.2 after applying it shows 192.168.1.0
My Set-up details: Router : Netgear WGR614v5 Modem: ADSL D-LINK Broadband: Optus ATA Device 1: Linksys Sipura SPA-1001 Line 1: (Port 5060) k5.com.au For incoming calls on DID number Line2: (Port 5061) pennytel.com For outgoing calls
ATA Device 2: Linksys Sipura SPA-1001 Line 1: (Port 5060) voipvoip.com For incoming calls on DID number Line2: (Port 5061) pennytel.com For outgoing calls
Kindly discuss and solve my problem. Thanks |

| I'm no expert, but thinking that using four port numbers may help? (5060,5061, and 5062, 5063.) It may be related to how the router handles NAT?
If the router can put one ATA in DMZ, you can perhaps see if things go back to "normal"? -- Jim -- USA2K, VoIP since 12/2002, Packet8 since 12/2006. VOIPo in Beta, former Vonage . . . FAH-Tool Monitor |

Even though the ATA's are sourcing from different IP addresses, the router is getting confused by the fact that the destination IP, destination port and source port are the same. It shouldn't, BUT.
My suggestion:
1) Remove all port forwarding configurations.
2) On ATA Device 2, configure the following.... Line 1: (Port 5062) voipvoip.com Line2: (Port 5063) pennytel.com
The provider does not have to change anything. You register to them and they will talk back to you on your source port.
That way the router will at least see unique ports. |
