| Re: Should i, shouldn't i?
said by gregandrene :SWhy would I be more secure with v6 on my side of the 660, since practically nothing that I don't ask for gets thru anyway? What the 660 doesn't stop, my software firewall seems to. It wont, there is no point installing Ipv6 unless you know what you are doing or you have a ipv6 network, and as of now installing ipv6 could mean less secure because a lot of firewalls don't understand ipv6 so they don't protect it. | | gregandrene

| Someone on a forum I visit said installing v6 on my WindowsXPSP2 machine would make it more secure, even if my ISP uses v4, since my modem (router?) would change it back and forth. I have DSL from my Telco, a Zyxel 660 modem (or is it a router?). Why would I be more secure with v6 on my side of the 660, since practically nothing that I don't ask for gets thru anyway? What the 660 doesn't stop, my software firewall seems to. | |
