IPhone haters????

lots of IPhone haters.....

Sounds like a niche market, I could be wrong though. (VoIP over WiFi............)

I agree, YES apple should have it.

But the IPhone is sooo much better in many other ways.

I have an 8525 from cingular/AT&T. Excellent phone/mobile computer. But my wife's IPhone internet ability is sooooo much greater. (and associated applications)

The phone you pick is EXTREMELY dependent on the tasks you want to do. I know many BlackBerry users who will never switch. I like my 8525, and the related "tilt", for what it does. I love the IPhone's internet and preloaded "maps" (with directory assistance, and directions)

Yes, you can download the applications to make your phone's work like an IPhone....but really..............................

Not sure about the US, but here in Europe, many ISPs allow you to use their triple play service over Wifi, when you're at home. Basically, they provide an SIP service that you can access over WiFi. This way, you still use your cool cellphone, with your addressbook, etc..., but don't use your cell plan minutes.

Some ISPs have taken this further, and allow you to roam and use the WiFi signal of any other user of the same ISP when you're not home. Of course, the SIP traffic goes through a separate WiFi channel, so you can't authenticate or see the other user's data WiFi channel.

So there would be a nice market if someone can make an SIP client, considering that iPhone purchasers here most likely have one of those triple play services.

The iPhone will continue to be CRAP until they come out with a 30/60 gig model and NOT tethered to AT&T Wireless. 8 gig just makes it a POS and add AT&T and it makes it a truly worthless POS.
